Bungee Fitness, is a high energy, low impact workout, which combines elements of dance, aerobics and resistance training. An exercise that has been inspired by circus techniques; participants wear a harness attached to an actual bungee cord suspended from the gym’s ceiling.
The bungee cord creates a sense of weightlessness and allows you to bounce off the ground with each movement. The elasticity of the bungee cord absorbs the shock on impact, reducing stress on the joints, making it a knee, hip and back friendly workout! As the contact with the ground is moderate, it is an exercise designed for all fitness levels and abilities.
The routines themselves have been designed to be fun and engaging, and incorporate movements such as walking, running, star jumps, squats and spinning through the air on the rope. Combined with playlists that are upbeat and energetic to match the mood. The nature of bouncing and flying through the air, gives a sense of freedom and play, like the carefree feeling of messing about when you were a kid! By its nature, its an empowering activity that makes you step out of your comfort zone, in the classes I have been to I’ve noticed that people can’t help but smile and laugh.

It is a complete full body workout.It combines the traditional advantages of a cardio workout; increase in energy levels, stamina, reduction in body fat percentage, with resistance training, through the use of elastic bands. You need to make an effort just to walk a few steps in bungee fitness, this helps to build strength and endurance.

The bungee cords create instability, so your body relies on your core muscles to maintain stability during the workout, this leads to the strengthening of your abs and back. The workout also enhances coordination, flexibility and agility.
